Crop Circle Skateboards is a fictional company that I have created for the world of skateboarding. It's a brand that skateboarders will trust for quality and and for bringing that out of this world feeling back into carving up the streets. This company will have decks and clothing. This is Crop Circle Skateboards!.
These are 15 rough sketches of some ideas for Crop Circle Skateboards. I played around with including extra terrestrials and some extra terrestrial imagery like flying saucers, odd symbols/shapes. I tried to make a variety from over the top busy to more simple. Next I found the logo I wanted to use and then started looking at colors and fonts.
I wanted to look at few different types of font these were the three that I looked at.
I chose this one as the logo I will go with. I feel that it represents the kind of company Crop Circle Skateboarding will be. I chose the font Showcard Gothic because of the block letter style and the way it flows from left to right. I also feel that this logo can be transferred to all formats well.
I decided the color scheme should be kept simple. These were a few thoughts on what the final color scheme would end up being. I went with green and black because aliens are usually thought of as green and crop circles are usually made in corn fields which are green. Green is also associated with balance and their is nothing more important than balance in skateboarding.
This is the Final logo it can be put on decks, t-shirts, hats, you name it.
